Spotty Hopper

Look what I have found for you today - a very spotty bug!
A Green & Black Planthopper.
It was on one of the house flyscreens.

This bug is somewhat like a small cicada - it likes to suck sap.
Love those beady orange eyes!

It's bright green abdomen is quite a contrast in colour to the rest of the body.

You can see that it is not very big here in this photo.

It was quite tricky to photograph as it was inclined to hop/spring around the room.

I hope you enjoyed today's post.
Have a great week, everyone.
Cheerio for now

Everyday I'm Shufflin'....

A rather striking millipede -
pink and black stripes!

Fascinating watching all those legs in action.
Quite speedy for something so small.

Cheers,

A Beautiful Moth

Look what we found today while taking our dog for a walk up the lane.
A 'Granny's Cloak' moth.
Quite startling with those big 'eye' markings.
It was on the road, so after taking the photo, I moved it over to the grassy footpath.

Cheerio for now,

Flutter-bys

Hello again,
today we have some pretty butterflies to look at.
The first one is a very common butterfly - the 'Monarch' or 'Wanderer'

A 'Meadow Argus' . It is also known as 'Albin's Hampstead Eye in the United Kingdom, where it has occurred only as an accidental import.

And lastly, a 'White line blue' butterfly.
It is always a pleasure to see butterflies visiting my garden.
Cheerio for now,
Sandi x
